LipsLips are the sensuality index of a woman. The beauty of lips has enamored poets, kings and saints alike. No wonder, lips are compared with soft petals of roses. Much like a rose needs the moisture from the air to stay gorgeous and beautiful; your lips too deserve an attention of equivalent nature. This is especially true in winter, when the lips tend to lose their moisture and turn dry. A few general lip beauty tips are outlined in the following points.

1. Moisturize :
Moisturize your lips on a daily basis, especially in the winter. Find a lip balm that also protects the lips from the sunrays. Lip balms usually have an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) value of 15. Applying a coat of honey on the lips is a great way to moisturize them. This is a great idea because you can smack the honey a little while after they have been coated on the lips. Drink a lot of water throughout the day. Applying olive oil on the lips before bedtime is also a good way to have a moisturizing effect.

You can also moisturize using a tea bag. Take a black tea bag, soak it in water, squeeze the water out somewhat and then dab the bag to your lips for about three to four minutes. Try keeping the lips moistened by smacking them against one another.

Exfoliate Lips
2. Exfoliate :
Exfoliate your lips gently using a scrubby towel soaked in warm water. Gently rub the lips to remove any excess skin. Use a petroleum jelly while and after exfoliating. This will ensure an extra safety to your lips.

3. Primer :
Apply a thin coat of lip primer before applying the lip color. This is especially important if you have dry lips during winter because, the primer will ensure that you have a smooth canvas to put the colors up on. Find a suitable primer which has got moisturizing qualities, can act as a sunscreen (SPF 15+) and is enriched with vitamins.

4. Herbal remedies :
You can also try herbal remedies to mend your charred lips in winter. A typical herbal lip lotion is the solution of lime water (5 ml), glycerine (5 ml) and rosewater. Apply this potion on the lips and let it evaporate in a natural manner. Another remedy is to make a paste of butter, nutmeg and turmeric powder. You can put this on your lips before going to bed. Butter helps in healing the cracks on the lips and turmeric acts as an antiseptic in the healing process.
